My Top Stories of 2018 (with free links)

I wanted to reflect on my year on Medium anyways and recently I saw someone posting a My top stories post so I got inspired to do it as well. :)

My journey on Medium started in summer 2018 when I accidentally heard about the platform while I was considering to start a blog.

As I lacked the time and motivation to start an own blog and take care of every detail, Medium was just the perfect solution.

I quickly understood how it works, created a 10-hour online course about Medium and posted regularly.

I am still highly motivated to make the most out of Medium, to create valuable content and to keep engaging with so many great people I get to know on the platform.

I am highly looking forward to what 2019 will bring in regard to our journey on Medium!

So, here are my top performing Medium articles of 2018 with free links.

The wrong thing about education

Education is one of the most important things for me. My own business is based on personal development and self-education. I don’t aim to go into politics and try to make a huge change in the system but I love reflecting on our current system and thinking about what we could do better in the future.

This was one of my first articles on Medium and it got featured so that I became a Top Writer in education. Back then, this was a huge motivation for me, which kept me going and writing more and more on Medium.

The power of journaling

I started to journal at the end of 2017, so 2018 was pretty much my trial year.

What I do mostly is to use the 5 Minute Journal App. It is the simplest way to journal, practice gratitude and to strengthen your focus daily.

30 Things I learned about Blogging on Medium in my first 30 Days

After my first month of writing on Medium, I summed up everything that I knew so far.

As I tried to deliver as much value and help as possible, this article performed pretty well and many people messaged me telling how they benefitted from my learnings.

Thank Yourself

2018 has been my best year so far but I also experienced many downs! It was not always 100% perfect and I stressed myself a lot — but I learned to thank myself for everything that I’ve already accomplished.

Being thankful and practicing gratefulness is probably my biggest learning from the past 12 months.

The only habit you need to succeed in 2019

As I’ve read and written a lot about success in 2018 — I tried o sum up my #1 rule which I want to apply to succeed in 2019.

After a lot of reflection, I realized that actually showing up day in and day out is what defines your success and how far you come in life.

Bottom Line

I want to say a big THANK YOU to everybody who read my stories in 2018. Medium was my #1 source of inspiration and motivation in 2018.

It is incredible how many really awesome writers are writing here and how much knowledge is published every day.

I hope that Medium itself and the whole community will keep growing.

I am dedicated to deliver even more content in 2019 and hope to inspire even more people.
